چکیده

They are important chemical intermediates whose spin state dependent chemistry is implicated in a large number of organic reactions [l-4]. An important feature relevant to an understanding of many of their physical and chemical properties is the small energy gap separating the lowest singlet and triplet states. In fact for a number of carbenes these two states are in equilibrium at room temperature [5]. The ground state of these molecules can be either singlet or triplet depending on substituents and possibly geometry [6]. For the molecules we have studied, diphenylcarbene (DPC) and dibenzocycloheptadienylidene @CHD), DPC

Picosecond Laser Studies on the Effect of Structure and Environment on Intersystem Crossing in Aromatic Carbenes

A large solvent polarity effect on the rate of singlet to triplet intersystem crossing (ksT) has been observed in the carbenes, diphenylcarbene (DPC) and dicycloheptadienylidene (DCHD)it is found that both ksT and the energy splitting (A&T) separtaing the singlet and triplet states decrease as the solvent polarity increases for the aromatic carbenes. This “inverse” gap effect, i.e. the time for...

Influence of Deuterium-Depleted Water on the Isotope D/H Composition of Liver Tissue and Morphological Development of Rats at Different Periods of Ontogenesis

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the reaction of organism of laboratory animals on deuterium-depleted drinking diet. To assess the cell energy metabolism, the effect of a liquid medium with different deuterium contents on isolated liver mitochondria of random bred rats and Wistar rats was studied. Methods: This experimental study on the effect of deuterium-depleted drinking water (DDW) ...

Magnetic isotope effect in the reaction of disproportionation of radical pairs

The photolysis of methyldeoxybenzoin was carried out in aqueous SDS solution in the earth’s field and in a field of 1500 G. Benzaldehyde and styrene are produced by disproportionation of benzoyl-set-phenethyl geminate radical pair. Both benzaldehyde and the recovered methyldeoxybenzoin are enriched in “C. These results represent the first direct evident that both disproportionation and recombin...

Internal conversion of o-aminoacetophenone in solution

The photophysical properties of o-aminoacetophenone (o-AAP) in solution have been studied by using a femtosecond laserÈsingle photon counting system and time-resolved thermal lensing (TRTL) method. The Ñuorescence quantum yield and lifetime of o-AAP depend strongly on the nature of the solvent. In f (qf) nonpolar solvents, o-AAP gives very small values in n-hexane) and remarkably short f (Uf\ 2...

Consecutive reaction mechanism for the formation of spore photoproduct in DNA photolesion.

We have explored the potential energy profiles of TpT dinucleotides toward formation of a DNA photolesion product, spore photoproduct (SP), along the S(0), S(1), and T(1) states, by means of density functional theory and time-dependent density functional theory. Together with the spin density analysis, the consecutive mechanism for the SP formation can be established. The detailed reaction path...
